国産第一号の電話機から最新の携帯電話までを揃え、電話の仕組みや歴史などを伝える企画展が横浜こども科学館で開かれています。
Yokohama Children’s Science Museum is holding a telephone exhibition with the Japan’s first telephone to the latest cell-phone illustrating the mechanism and history of the phone.

約80点が展示され、声が伝わる原理や最新機器の構造などを幅広く学べる内容になっています。
About 80 telephones are displayed to widely demonstrate the principals of the voice transmission and the structure of latest mechanisms etc.

電話。電話の進化は素敵ですね。もう追いつけないです。ギリチョンセーフです。ねっ。ホントにね(笑)　「ギリチョンセーフ」って久々に言いました。
Telephone. The evolution of telephone is splendid. I can no longer catch up. Girichon-safe des. (“I can barely make it” in a wildly obsolete phrase.) Ne. Seriously ne. (laugh) It’s been long time since I last said “girichon-safe”.

いやー、でもね、ホントね、電話はすごいですよ。今や携帯電話の時代です。ねっ。昔のね、黒いガッツリした電話ありましたよね。手で回してね、やるやつ。あれも昔うちにありましたよ。
Say~, but, really, phone is great. This is the cell phone era. Ne. Remember the old, black stocky phone? The one, that you dial by hand. I used to have one of that at home.

いやー、でも今、家の電話もあんまり使わなくなりますよね。携帯で済んでしまいますからね。ええ。
Say~, but now, you don’t even use the land phone that much. Because the cell phone will do. Yes.

携 帯もね、ホントね、電波が悪い時とかなんであんなにイライラするんでしょうかね。よく留守電に入ってるので、確認したいところだけ電波が悪い。例えばな んかね、「明日の仕事の時間は・・・分」です、みたいなさ(笑)　ああいう時ってね、何回も聞きますよね。3回くらい聞いても「やっぱ電波悪かったの か」ってね。ええ。
Cell phone too, really, why is it so irritating when you have bad connection, you know. I often get voice mails, and only the important part has bad signals. Like for example, “you need to come in tomorrow at xxxx” (laugh) I repeatedly try the message at times like that, don’t you. After trying it about three times, I’m like, “bad connection after all.” Yes.

まぁ皆さんね、電話もいいですけどもね、電話が全てね、メモったりできますけど、たまにはね、字を書いてもいいんじゃないでしょうかね。
well guys, phone is good, with phone you can take notes and all, but sometimes it’s nice to write letters (characters. not mail), isn’t it.

この間、僕ね、書き初めしたんですよ。ええ。すごい楽しかったですよ。書き初めもね、まだ1月なんで、してみてはどうでしょう？

同じワインでも、値段が高いと聞いてから飲むとより高級な味がする。と感じたことはありませんか？
Have you ever felt this way? That wine tastes more superb after hearing it is an expensive wine?

アメリカ・カリフォルニア工科大学の研究チームがこれを検証した結果、事前に知らされた値段によって脳の反応に違いが出ることが明らかになりました。
California Institute of Technology in the U.S. had an experiment to prove that people’s perception is affected by the informed price of the wine.

参加者20人を対象に同じワインなのに実際の値段と、実際より安く表示した物を用意して別の種類として飲んでもらい、脳の活動を観察しました。
They studied the cerebral activities of 20 participants sampling the same wine marked as the actual price and lower than the actual price.

その結果、脳の中で美味しさなどの快感に反応する部分は実際の値段にかかわらず、高価とされるワインを飲んだ時ほど活性化することが分かったということです。
They found, the area of the brain stimulated by pleasure such as taste is activated more when people tasted the wine labeled expensive regardless of the actual price.

でもね、ワインの飲み過ぎはやめましょう。っていうのはね、この間ね、久々にワインを飲んだんです。赤ワインをね。ええ。しかも赤ワイン飲みながらゲームやっちゃってね。
Whatever you do, don’t over drink wine. The reason I say this is, recently, I had wine for the first time in a long while. I had red wine. Yes. Furthermore, I started playing games while drinking that red wine.

最近すごいじゃないですか。身体動かしてやるゲームあるじゃないですか。ねぇ、テニスとかボウリングとかできるやつ。それをね、赤ワイン飲みながらね、友達ん家でやってたんです。
It’s really advanced nowadays, isn’t it. You know, there are games you use your body. See, the ones you can play tennis and bowling and such. That, we were playing at my friend’s house, drinking red wine.

オーストラリア東部にある動物園で世界初とみられる青い目のコアラが生まれ、報道陣に公開されました。
The first koala with blue eyes was born in a zoo in eastern Australia, and was introduced to the reporters.

コアラの目は普通は茶色です。飼育員は「初めて見た時は自分の目を疑った」と驚き、20年の歴史があるオーストラリアのコアラ基金も青い目のコアラは初めてとしています。
Koalas usually have brown eyes. The zookeeper expressed his surprise by saying “I could not believe my eyes when I first saw it,” and the Australian Koala foundation states that blue-eyed koala had never been reported before in their history of 20 years.

このコアラの両親の目は茶色で、専門家は遺伝子の突然変異などで偶然青い目になったとみています。
This koala’s parents are both brown-eyed, and the specialists are speculating a case of genetic mutation causing the blue eyes.

 

はぁー、そんなことあるんですね。いやー、見てみたいですよね。うん。
僕、オーストラリア行ったことあるんですけど、コアラは見たことないかもしんないですね。うん。オーストラリアでコアラを見たことないかも分かんないけどもね。

I, have been to Australia, but may not have seen koalas there. Yeah. I don’t know whether I have seen koalas in Australia or not.

でもね、僕ね、昔から思うんですけどもね。うちのメンバーの相葉雅紀。ねっ。相葉ちゃんはね、コアラに似てると思うんですけど、どうですかね？ええ。
However, I’ve been always thinking. Our member, Aiba Masaki. Ne! Aiba-chan, I think, looks like a koala, what do you think? Yes.

よく「動物に例えると」とか昔ね、雑誌の取材とかでよくあったんですけど、たぶん僕、絶対相葉ちゃんはコアラって言ってると思うんですよ。ええ。
There used to be a lot of questionnaires like “what animal are you like” in old magazine interviews. I think, Aiba-chan must have been answering “a koala” to them. Yes.  

あのね、目の感じがちょっと似てるんですよね。で、ちゃんとコアラを見たら似てないんですよ。マンガとかで描かれるコアラに似てるのかもしんないです。ええ。
